KUALA LUMPUR – Barisan Nasional’s (BN) resounding win in the Ayer Kuning by-election is more than just a political triumph; it is a powerful message from Malaysia’s “silent majority,” says UMNO Youth Chief, Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.
In a spirited Facebook post following the victory, Dr Akmal declared that while BN had faced mockery and doubt, the coalition remained steadfast and composed, strategically working towards this pivotal moment.
“We were mocked, belittled, and told we had lost our strength. Yet we stayed silent, calm, and continued our struggle, believing we are not what they say we are,” he wrote.
He emphasized that silence should not be mistaken for weakness or surrender. Instead, it represented a period of introspection, careful planning, and unwavering commitment to strengthening the party’s foundation.
“In our silence, we took steps. In our silence, we self-reflected and improved our weaknesses. And now, the silent ones have spoken through the ballot box,” Dr Akmal continued.
The BN Youth Chief celebrated the Ayer Kuning voters’ decision as a call for a new kind of politics; one rooted in maturity, intellectual development, and genuine service to the people, moving away from the theatrics and toxicity that have dominated Malaysia’s political landscape.
“The silent majority is craving for a new politics – mature, constructive, and one that elevates the minds of the people,” he stressed.
Expressing gratitude to the voters and the tireless election machinery that secured the victory, Dr Akmal urged BN to continue its journey of self-reflection and improvement, reminding party members that the people are watching closely and ready to reward sincerity and hard work.
“We must continue to reflect and rectify our weaknesses. God willing, the people will judge us fairly,” he concluded. -MalayaDailyToday
