SUBANG JAYA – Ten people were injured after a roller coaster carrying 22 passengers derailed at a theme park in Subang Jaya on Saturday night.
Subang Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said police received a report regarding the incident at 11:45 am on Sunday, following the mishap which occurred at around 9:00 pm the previous day.
He stated that initial investigations revealed 22 passengers, comprising local citizens and foreign tourists aged between 11 and 44, were on the ride when the accident occurred.
“The accident resulted in 10 victims sustaining minor injuries. They were promptly sent to nearby medical centers in Subang Jaya for treatment,” Wan Azlan said in a statement today.
He confirmed that no fatalities were reported in the incident, and police have initiated a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the derailment.
