AYER KEROH – Former Mount Everest climber Datuk Muhamad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin successfully won the bidding for PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s signature walking stick, securing the collectible item for RM16,500 during a charity auction on Sunday.
The bidding session was held during the Malacca PAS State Charity Dinner at a hotel in Ayer Keroh, aimed at raising campaign funds for the upcoming Malacca State Election (PRN).
The custom walking stick, crafted from premium kemuning wood, bears the initials “TGHH” (Tuan Guru Haji Hadi) engraved into its finish.
Bidding began at an opening price of RM2,500 before escalating through several competitive offers to reach the winning bid of RM16,500.
Following the conclusion of the auction, Abdul Hadi personally presented the walking stick to Muqharabbin, who also serves as a committee member for PAS Lembah Pantai.
The auction formed part of a broader fundraising drive by the state party chapter to mobilize resources and logistics in preparation for the state polls. -MalayaDailyToday
