KUALA LUMPUR – Chairman of Malaysia Community Crime Care (MCCC) Pahang, Daniel Khoo, has extended his congratulations to His Royal Highness Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and his team after emerging as champions of the Cahaya Cup Polo Tournament held at the Kuala Lumpur Polo Club (KLPC) today.
Khoo described the victory as more than just a sporting achievement, saying it reflected discipline, leadership, resilience and teamwork that could inspire Malaysians, particularly the younger generation.
He said the prestigious tournament demonstrated how sports can serve as an effective platform to cultivate positive values and strengthen unity within society.
“Heartiest congratulations to His Royal Highness Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah and his team on winning the Cahaya Cup.
“This remarkable achievement showcases commitment, discipline and exceptional teamwork, while further elevating the profile of polo in Malaysia,” he said in a statement today.

Khoo added that the active participation of members of the Royal Family in sporting activities continues to strengthen public appreciation for polo and encourage wider participation in equestrian sports across the country.
“Sport has always been a powerful platform to unite communities, cultivate leadership and instil positive values among young Malaysians.
“Events such as the Cahaya Cup demonstrate that excellence is achieved through dedication, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility,” he said.
He also acknowledged the presence of Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Ahmad Shazril Ezzani bin Tengku Suleiman, whom he described as one of Malaysia’s leading polo players, saying his involvement further enhanced the prestige and competitiveness of the tournament.
According to Khoo, accomplished athletes such as Tengku Ahmad Shazril Ezzani play an important role in raising Malaysia’s profile within the polo fraternity while inspiring aspiring players to pursue excellence in the sport.
Earlier, His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Sultan of Pahang, graciously attended the tournament at the Kuala Lumpur Polo Club.
His Majesty also graciously presented the championship trophy to His Royal Highness Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah and his team after they were crowned champions of the prestigious tournament.
Khoo said the continued support shown by the Pahang Royal Family towards polo would help preserve Malaysia’s equestrian heritage and ensure the sport remains relevant for future generations.
The Cahaya Cup is regarded as one of the prestigious tournaments in the annual calendar of the Royal Malaysian Polo Association (RMPA), bringing together leading local teams from across the country.
The tournament is regularly hosted at prominent venues such as the Royal Pahang Polo Club in Kuantan and the Kuala Lumpur Polo Club, serving as an important platform to showcase talent, promote sportsmanship and strengthen the development of polo in Malaysia. -MalayaDailyToday
