SEREMBAN – N Nine Club Manager, Ramakrishnan Nair believes Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) should continue placing faith in homegrown coaches such as K. Rajan, describing the young tactician as one of the key figures capable of reigniting the spirit and identity of Negeri Sembilan football.
According to Ramakrishnan, Rajan’s ability to guide the team through several important unbeaten Super League matches this season proves that local coaches are equally capable of delivering results despite facing numerous challenges.
He said the achievements recorded by NSFC under Rajan should not merely be measured through statistics, but through the renewed fighting spirit, discipline and confidence displayed by the squad on the pitch.
“As a proud son of Negeri Sembilan, I believe this is the right time for us to recognise and appreciate local coaches like K. Rajan.

“What he has done this season goes beyond football results. He has shown courage, determination and the ability to rebuild belief within the team and among supporters,” he said.
Ramakrishnan noted that football today plays a much bigger role than just entertainment, adding that sports remain one of the strongest platforms to unite communities and inspire young people.
“Football has the power to bring people together regardless of race, religion or background. When a state team performs well, it creates pride, unity and positive energy within the community.
“It also encourages young people to stay involved in healthy activities, build discipline and dream of representing their state one day,” he added.
He said Negeri Sembilan once enjoyed a strong football culture, with Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman becoming one of the most feared venues in Malaysian football during the club’s glory years.

“There was a time when the stadium was packed every week with passionate supporters proudly backing the team. Fans still miss that atmosphere and the identity that Negeri Sembilan football once carried.
“To rebuild those glory days, the club needs individuals who truly understand the culture, expectations and soul of Negeri Sembilan football,” he said.
Ramakrishnan stressed that many local football figures often do not receive the recognition they deserve despite possessing strong knowledge, experience and commitment.
“In modern football, people are sometimes too quick to depend on foreign names or outside influence, but many local coaches already have the passion and capability needed to succeed if given the proper support.
“K. Rajan understands the players, the supporters and the meaning of wearing the Negeri Sembilan badge. That connection is important in building a team with heart and identity,” he said.

He also called on the club management and the Negeri Sembilan state leadership to continue empowering local football talents and younger individuals who are eager to contribute towards the development of the sport.
According to him, sustainable football success cannot be achieved overnight and requires long-term planning, patience and trust in local development.
“Football is not only about famous names or expensive signings. It is about loyalty, identity, commitment and building a future for the next generation.
“Sometimes the real heroes are not imported from outside, but born from the very soil of Negeri Sembilan itself.
“Maybe K. Rajan represents the beginning of a new chapter and a fresh rise for Negeri Sembilan FC,” he said. -MalayaDailyToday
