TERENGGANU – We note with distress the cold-blooded murder of a dog named Kopi in Kuala Terengganu. The Malay Mail has in their report dated 12.10.2024 stated that the party responsible for this heinous act is the Kuala Terengganu City Council.

We have yet another murder perpetrated by yet another local council.
It is clear that this murder is an illegal act contrary to the Animal Welfare Act 2015 (AWA 2015).

There is no provision in the AWA 2015 that allows for local councils to murder dogs by shooting and killing. It is a barbaric and heinous crime that has no place in any decent society.

We demand that the perpetrators of this crime be charged for animal cruelty. We put you, the Terengganu state government, on notice that should no action be taken, we will not hesitate to file a civil suit for justice on behalf of Kopi and all stray dogs.
