KUALA LUMPUR – Batik Air has extended its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies following the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171 near Ahmedabad, India, earlier this evening.
“Our deepest condolences and hearts go out to everyone affected by the Air India crash. In the skies, we may fly under different names, but in moments like this, we stand together as one aviation family.
“To the passengers, crew, and loved ones, you are in our thoughts today,” Batik Air said in a statement.
Earlier today, global news outlets reported that an Air India aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in the western Indian state of Gujarat.
The crash occurred in the Meghaninagar area, according to the Press Trust of India citing local authorities.
