KUALA LUMPUR – More than 3,000 visitors turned up for JL99 Group’s Moon Vibes Bazaar held in conjunction with Malaysia Day, transforming Legacity Sales Gallery into a lively gathering spot for families, young people, local businesses and the wider community.
Held on Sept 12 and 13 from 5pm to 11pm, the two-day event featured more than 80 food, beverage and lifestyle vendors, alongside live music, children’s games and a range of activities designed to appeal to visitors of different ages.
The latest bazaar followed JL99 Group’s earlier Hong Kong Nostalgia Market, which drew visitors with its retro-inspired concept. This time, the group opted for a more relaxed evening atmosphere, with the Moon Vibes theme bringing together food, entertainment, family activities and a lantern-themed evening programme.
Among the attractions were opportunities for visitors to meet and interact with horses, brown alpacas, raccoons, iguanas, snakes and capybaras, while children were also able to take part in animal petting activities.
For many families, the animal encounters and children’s activities provided an opportunity to spend time together beyond simply visiting the food and lifestyle stalls, adding a more recreational element to the bazaar.
The highlight of the evening was the 550-metre Lantern Walk, which began at 7.30pm and attracted around 300 participants. The first 50 registered participants each day received a lantern, while those who completed the walk were rewarded with a complimentary mooncake.
Registered visitors were also given a complimentary admission ticket to 99 Wonderland Park, further adding to the attractions available to families attending the event.
JL99 Group founder and event organiser Datuk Seri Jeff Lee said he was particularly encouraged by the turnout and the response from the participating vendors, whom he personally met throughout the two-day event.
“I personally met all 80 vendors and was very happy to learn that almost all of them made a profit during the event. That was something that really encouraged me because the bazaar is not only about bringing people together, but also about creating opportunities for the vendors,” he said.
Several participating vendors also expressed their appreciation to JL99 and Jeff for allowing them to take part without booth rental charges, describing the opportunity as valuable for small businesses looking to introduce their products to new customers.
The vendors said the support allowed them to focus on their products and sales while gaining exposure to a larger pool of visitors. Some also said they enjoyed being part of the event despite the rain, which did little to dampen the overall atmosphere.
Jeff said the response demonstrated the value of creating events where the community and small businesses could benefit together, rather than having a programme focused solely on commercial activities.
He added that JL99 would look at organising similar bazaars during future festive occasions and celebrations, following the encouraging response to the latest event.
“We hope to organise more bazaars like this during future celebrations. It gives the community a place to come together, gives small businesses a platform and allows families to spend quality time together,” he said.
The event also provided an opportunity for visitors to learn more about 99 Legend Property, with JL99 incorporating a property promotion into the two-day programme.
Under the special promotion, prospective buyers could book a unit for RM100 and receive an additional RM10,000 home reward, while selected homes under the development are priced from RM398,000.
Jeff said the promotion was limited to the first 20 units, giving visitors attending the bazaar an opportunity to explore the property offering while also enjoying the community event.
Rather than positioning the property offering as a standalone sales activity, the inclusion of 99 Legend Property formed part of JL99’s broader effort to connect its developments with the surrounding community through events and shared experiences.
With more than 3,000 visitors, 80 vendors and hundreds taking part in the Lantern Walk, the Moon Vibes Bazaar gave JL99 another platform to bring together businesses, families and the community while creating opportunities for small traders and introducing visitors to its 99 Legend Property offering. -MalayaDailyToday
