KUALA LUMPUR – The monsoon season that has hit several areas in Peninsular Malaysia has not only caused floods but has also brought another threat: the appearance of venomous animals.
Viral on Threads, a user @amirulhailmi shared his experience when the water began rising around his home and animals such as snakes, centipedes and scorpions started appearing in higher places like pillars and house fences.
He advised the public not to get too excited about playing in floodwater, especially children, because venomous animals often look for shelter when water levels rise. The video he shared shocked many people who saw these reptiles ‘taking refuge’ around homes that were thought to be safe.
The flood season is not just about rising water; it also brings hidden risks such as strong currents, sharp debris, mud, contamination and venomous creatures. Prioritise safety and stay alert. -MalayaDailyToday
