KUALA LUMPUR – Netizens are outraged by a viral video in which a street vendor is seen using drain water to clean his wok.
The 16-second clip, posted on Mynewshub Viral, has shocked netizens, who have cited the restaurant’s disgusting and unhygienic practices.
The woman filming, who later posted the video online, can be heard saying that these particular roti canai vendors wash their woks using drain water.
“It’s very dirty lah. These roti canai vendors wash their kuali using drain water,” she repeats.
Despite her disbelief, the seller remained silent before walking away with the wok.
"Food hygiene is not just about the cleanliness of the ingredients but also the cleanliness of the utensils used to prepare food."
The video, which quickly gained over 50,000 views on X and Instagram, has left netizens horrified, with many expressing their disgust.
“Where is this place? We need to know so we can avoid it!” one commenter demanded, with many others calling for swift action from authorities to ensure proper hygiene standards at eateries.

It is unclear where the video was recorded but one user who commented under the video on X said that it was at a “mamak” shop in Rasah, Negeri Sembilan, behind the bus stop.
