SUNGAI PETANI – The brother of a woman who suffered a miscarriage following a brutal domestic violence incident last week spoke out today, sharing the family’s emotional struggle during court proceedings.
Mohd Firdaus Moktar, 45, attended the Sungai Petani Court to personally verify the identity of the suspect being remanded for the assault on his sister.
“I came to court today because I wanted to see for myself if it was truly him. While I am deeply emotional, I am trying my best to remain patient and endure this ordeal,” he said.
Family Focused on Recovery
According to Mohd Firdaus, his 39-year-old sister remains severely traumatized. However, the family expressed relief that the authorities have successfully apprehended the suspect.
“Despite what has happened to my sister, I am grateful the suspect is in custody. Our family will continue to provide her with the support she needs to regain her strength and resilience,” he added.
Mohd Firdaus was accompanied by several family members to witness the remand process of the suspect. The individual is alleged to have beaten his wife so severely that it resulted in the loss of her 12-week-old pregnancy at their home in Ambangan Heights last week.
Legal and Medical Update
Jamaluddin Ali Mohd Jobran, the lawyer acting as an observer for the victim’s family, confirmed that the police investigation is ongoing. He urged the public to refrain from speculation that could jeopardize legal proceedings.
- Public Plea: “We are leaving the investigation entirely to the police. I also request that social media narratives are not blown out of proportion to the point of affecting the case,” Jamaluddin stated.
- Medical Condition: The victim is currently hospitalized. While she has reportedly sustained serious injuries—including damage to her ribs and hips—a comprehensive medical report is still pending.
Jamaluddin concluded by requesting prayers for the victim’s recovery and urged any other individuals who may have been victimized by the suspect to step forward and lodge a police report to assist in a thorough investigation. -MalayaDailyToday
