Geneva – Our team from HRD Corp – Human Resource Development Corporation attended the Global Skills Forum in Geneva, Switzerland. The event, organised by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in collaboration with the European Commission, brought together organisations worldwide to talk about how to develop skills as the economy and society change. We had a great time discussing with and listening to subject matter experts from around the world.
As an organisation responsible for driving Malaysia’s talent development aspirations, we value the opportunity provided by the International Labour Organization (ILO) to engage and connect with human capital practitioners who are committed to strengthening skills development across the world.
I had the opportunity to be one of the panellists in a session titled “Navigating Tomorrow with Effective Skills Anticipation Systems”, with Glenda Quintini, Francesca Rosso, and Juan Pablo Davila. Moderated by Bolormaa Tumurchudur-Klok the one-hour session focused on discussing the importance of effective skills anticipation systems and the challenges and best practices in implementing them globally.
During the session, I shared about HRD Corp’s role in upskilling Malaysia’s talents and growing the nation’s learning and development industry in order to prepare Malaysians to meet future work demands. In doing so, we have worked hard to ensure our employers utilise their levy effectively and efficiently to meet the evolving skill requirements in the country.
To help them do this, we introduced numerous programmes and initiatives such as our very own online learning platform e-LATiH, that offers over 1,500 free courses; National Training Week (NTW), a one-week free training with over 25,000 learning and development courses for Malaysians and National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition (NHCCE), the largest human capital conference in Malaysia that will be focusing on human resource (HR) and artificial intelligence (AI).
Thank you, ILO, for this amazing opportunity for HRD Corp – Human Resource Development Corporation, the Ministry of Human Resources and Malaysia to share our learnings and experience in this critical area. I hope it has been beneficial to the audience and also all skills and talent development professionals worldwide.
