KUALA LUMPUR – The Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman temple will be relocated to a new site within the Jalan Masjid India area, according to a news portal report today.
The report stated that the decision was made with the agreement of the temple’s management, following discussions and negotiations with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
“We are grateful to the minister, elected representatives, and other authorities who helped reach this resolution.
“The new site is nearby, within the Jalan Masjid India area, and is suitable as an alternative location,” said the temple committee secretary, Kaarthik Gunaseelan.
Kaarthik added that a meeting between the temple committee and DBKL will be held this evening to finalize technical matters, with an official announcement expected soon.
Earlier today, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed that he will proceed with the groundbreaking ceremony for Masjid Madani at Jalan Masjid India this Thursday.
He stated that his decision was not in violation of any laws, as the land belongs to a private company.
He also emphasized that all citizens, regardless of majority or minority status, must adhere to the law, as Malaysia is built upon legal principles and regulations. -MalayaDailyToday
