MELAKA – Malaysian Community Crime Care (MCCC) Pahang chairman Daniel Khoo has been conferred the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (B.C.M) in recognition of his contributions to society.
Daniel was among 431 recipients of Melaka state honours, medals and decorations presented in conjunction with the 77th Birthday Celebration of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka, Tun Seri Setia Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam, during the third session held today.
The investiture ceremony was held at Seri Negeri here.
The recognition is particularly meaningful for Daniel, who is known as a vocal community activist who has consistently spoken out on issues affecting the public.
Apart from his role as MCCC Pahang chairman, Daniel is also active as an activist with the Malaysian Humanitarian Organisation (MHO) and has previously been involved in efforts to assist and rescue victims of human trafficking.
His involvement in such cases reflects his commitment to humanitarian causes, particularly in protecting individuals who have fallen victim to exploitation and crime.
Daniel has also frequently voiced his views on issues involving public safety, crime and community welfare, including matters he believes warrant greater attention from the authorities.
At the same time, he is known for his firm stance in defending the institution of the monarchy, particularly when issues arise that he believes could affect the position and dignity of the royal institution.
Daniel said he was both happy and deeply touched by the recognition, describing the B.C.M as a great honour that also carries the responsibility to continue contributing to society.
He said his efforts over the years were never driven by the pursuit of recognition, but by a desire to help the community and ensure that issues affecting the public were not ignored.
According to Daniel, the award would further motivate him to continue his community work and speak up on issues that require attention.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka and the Melaka state government for the trust and recognition accorded to him.
Daniel said he would continue to use whatever platform available to contribute to society, particularly on matters involving public safety, humanitarian concerns and the interests of the people.
For Daniel, being a community activist is not merely about voicing opinions, but also about taking action when issues require intervention, particularly when they involve vulnerable people who have been wronged or are in need of assistance. -MalayaDailyToday
