CAPE CANAVERAL — A SpaceX rocket successfully launched a four-member multinational crew from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Thursday, embarking on a science mission to the International Space Station (ISS) focused on human health in microgravity, WAM news agency reported.
The two-stage Falcon 9 rocket propelled an autonomously operated Crew Dragon capsule carrying two American astronauts, one Canadian astronaut, and a Russian cosmonaut into orbit to join the orbital laboratory.
Upon docking, the new arrivals will be welcomed by the seven current occupants aboard the ISS, enabling the four-member Crew-12 team to prepare for their return to Earth following a mission exceeding seven months.
The newly arrived crew will conduct specialized biomedical and human-performance studies during their stay, including research examining how microgravity affects blood circulation and clotting mechanisms.
Mission organizers stated that data collected from these orbital experiments will directly inform medical protocols and safety standards for future long-duration human space exploration.-MalayaDailyToday
