RAWANG – Great news for Indian food lovers! Oh Yeah Banana Leaf has just launched its fourth branch here, offering a delightful array of new dishes.
Previously, Oh Yeah Banana Leaf made its mark in Bukit Bintang, Batu Caves, and Brickfields. The latest branch, co-owned by Babu Ramachandran (founder), Denes Kumar, and Vincent Dass, stands out for its unique offerings.
Speaking to MalayaDailyToday, Denes expressed his excitement about the high demand for their signature bamboo biryani, especially among Kuala Lumpur’s food enthusiasts. The new location also features updated menu items, including the highly requested fish head curry.
“What sets Oh Yeah Banana Leaf apart is the use of banana leaves, which add a natural aroma and unique flavor to every dish. Our special recipes and cooking methods truly captivate taste buds,” Denes said. “This distinctiveness has driven our expansion, proving that a unique dining experience can win customers’ hearts.”
“Our top hits include mutton biryani, chicken, fish, prawn, crab, and even vegetable biryani. We also serve lamb shank, tandoori naan, and Pani Puri, with fish head curry being our standout dish. You’ve got to try it!” he added during the grand opening, attended by corporate figures, political leaders, and celebrities.
Located on Jalan Rawang to Kundang, next to the Petronas station opposite AEON Anggun Rawang, the new branch promises convenience and great dining.
Babu, reflecting on the restaurant’s origins, said, “I’m thrilled with our achievements. Despite challenges, quality and dedication always pay off. My mother started idea this during the Covid-19 pandemic, and seeing its success today is truly rewarding,”
Co-owner Vincent is optimistic that this new branch will attract even more customers, thanks to various initiatives including comprehensive catering services and event space.
“This restaurant is very spacious, accommodating over 150 people at a time. We offer both open and air-conditioned rooms. There’s also space for events, and we provide home catering with Oh Yeah Banana Leaf’s special menu. We appreciate your support,” he said.
In addition to banana leaf rice and bamboo biryani, Oh Yeah Banana Leaf serves dishes like idli, dosai, poori, uppuma, ponggal, and various fried items.
Oh Yeah Banana Leaf is renowned for its traditional curries, offering a range of options including mutton curry, chicken curry, fish curry, and vegetable curry, all paired with soft, aromatic bread like roti canai, idli, or naan.
