KUALA LUMPUR – Singapore Senior Minister, Lee Hsien Loong has expressed sadness over the passing of Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, saying he and his wife Ho Ching would remember her fondly.
Lee said the late Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah was warm and gracious person, full of life and possessed a wonderful sense of humour.
“I have known Tun Siti Hasmah for many years and always enjoyed meeting her. She was warm and gracious, full of life, and had a wonderful sense of humour,” he said in his Facebook post on Monday.
Lee, the former Prime Minister of Singapore, said Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah had devoted much of her life as a doctor to improving the health and well-being of Malaysians, particularly women, children, and families.
“Ho Ching and I will remember Tun Siti Hasmah fondly,” he said.
Lee also fondly recalled his interactions with Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah regarding her passion for music and the violin.
“She continued performing well into her 90s, including to raise funds for charity. Her zest for life was remarkable,” he said.
Lee extended his deepest condolences to former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and his family during this difficult time.
Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur on Monday morning at the age of 100.-MalayaDailyToday
