KUALA LUMPUR – Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Hannah Yeoh and her husband, Ramachandran Muniandy, have ended their marriage after 18 years together.
The separation was disclosed via an update on the Segambut Member of Parliament’s official website detailing her personal background, stating that the 18-year marriage ended this year.
The couple tied the knot in 2008, shortly before Yeoh embarked on her career in active politics. They have two daughters together, Shay and Kayleigh, born in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
Yeoh first entered elected office in 2008 as the State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Subang Jaya, serving two terms until 2018. During her tenure in the state assembly, she created history in 2013 by becoming the first female Speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly.
She subsequently transitioned to federal politics, winning the Segambut parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election (GE14) in 2018, a seat she continues to hold.
In the federal administration, Yeoh served as Deputy Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development from 2018 to 2020. She was later appointed Minister of Youth and Sports from 2022 to 2025, before assuming her current portfolio as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) in December last year.
Within her party, the Democratic Action Party (DAP), Yeoh currently holds several leadership roles, including National Vice-Chairman, Deputy Secretary-General, and member of the DAP Wanita committee. -MalayaDailyToday
