KUALA LUMPUR – In response to the escalating situation between Pakistan and India, Batik Air has announced the immediate suspension of select international services connecting Kuala Lumpur with the South Asian region. Flights to and from Lahore, Pakistan, and Amritsar, India, scheduled for 7 and 8 May 2025, have been cancelled.
The airline confirmed that the affected routes include OD131 (Kuala Lumpur–Lahore), OD132 (Lahore–Kuala Lumpur), OD271 (Kuala Lumpur–Amritsar), and OD272 (Amritsar–Kuala Lumpur).
In a statement issued today, Batik Air emphasized that the decision was made with passenger and crew safety as the top priority. “We are actively monitoring developments on the ground and working closely with relevant authorities to ensure all necessary precautions are taken,” said the airline.
Although no further details were disclosed regarding the nature of the regional developments, the move aligns with a broader pattern of heightened aviation vigilance in response to geopolitical uncertainty in the subcontinent.
Passengers booked on the affected flights have been advised to contact the airline directly or visit Batik Air’s official website and mobile app for the latest travel updates and rebooking options.
Batik Air extended its apologies to customers for the disruption and thanked travellers for their patience and understanding during this period.
As the situation continues to evolve, travellers are urged to remain informed through official airline communications and advisories from respective foreign ministries. -MalayaDailyToday
