KUALA LUMPUR – Tamil romantic drama Kadhal Reset Repeat delivers a poignant take on love and identity, weaving a story where emotions must survive even when memories cannot.
Directed by A. L. Vijay, the film follows Aditi, portrayed by Jiya Shankar, a singer who suffers from anterograde amnesia after a traumatic accident in Scotland.
Living in a daily reset reality, Aditi wakes up each day without any memory of the past, forcing her to rebuild her life and relationships from the beginning.
The situation becomes increasingly complex when she finds herself caught between two men presenting conflicting versions of her past.
Her present boyfriend Hari, played by Arjun Ashokan, appears dependable, while a childhood admirer portrayed by Madumkesh in his Tamil debut claims a deeper connection with her.
As the narrative unfolds, Aditi is left to rely on instinct rather than memory, raising questions about trust, truth and the essence of love itself.
The film is further supported by performances from M. S. Bhaskar, Jayaprakash and Viji Chandrasekhar, adding emotional depth to the story.
From a technical standpoint, cinematographer Arvind Krishna delivers visually soft and immersive frames, while editor Anthony ensures a smooth narrative flow despite its repetitive structure.
Music composed by Harris Jayaraj stands out as the emotional backbone of the film. His compositions elevate each scene, from delicate piano arrangements to sweeping orchestral layers that mirror the film’s themes of repetition and longing. A special premiere and meet-and-greet session was held at LFS Cinemas PJ State on March 9, featuring Harris Jayaraj, Madumkesh and members of the cast and crew.
