KUALA LUMPUR – In the spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Batik Air is ramping up its flight operations to accommodate the surge in travelers eager to reunite with loved ones for the festive season. The airline has introduced additional flights, expanded key domestic routes, and offered special fixed fares to make travel more convenient and accessible.
As part of this initiative, Transport Minister Anthony Loke visited Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) today to personally send off passengers on Batik Air flight OD 7908 to Tawau. The flight, carrying 160 passengers, departed at 9:00 PM, marking an important journey home for many celebrating Hari Raya.
During his visit, Anthony Loke extended his warm wishes to passengers and distributed festive goodie bags, adding to the joyous atmosphere. The event highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting seamless travel during peak holiday periods.

Batik Air Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, reaffirmed the airline’s dedication to providing reliable and efficient travel options during the festive season.
Increased Flight Frequency to Meet Demand
Recognizing the growing travel needs, Batik Air has significantly expanded its operations. For the Kuala Lumpur-Tawau route alone, the airline has more than doubled its flights, accommodating over 2,700 passengers in the week leading up to Hari Raya 2025—an increase from just over 1,100 passengers in the same period last year.
“In response to the rising demand, we have increased flights to Tawau to 16 in the pre-Raya week, a sharp rise from the seven additional flights introduced last year. This ensures that more families can reunite with ease, reinforcing Batik Air’s commitment to enhancing connectivity during this important celebration,” said Datuk Chandran.

Additionally, Batik Air has introduced up to 140 extra flights across key domestic destinations, including Kota Bharu, Alor Setar, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Sibu, Sandakan, and Tawau. This expansion aims to provide travelers with more options and flexibility during the peak travel season.
Affordable Festive Fares for Malaysians
In line with its goal of making festive travel accessible, Batik Air has launched special all-in, one-way fixed fares starting at RM319 for flights to Sarawak and RM379 for flights to Sabah. These fares apply to departures from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang.
“Our priority is to ensure that Malaysians can travel affordably and conveniently during this festive season. By offering additional flights and competitive fares, we aim to make Hari Raya homecomings smoother and more enjoyable,” added Datuk Chandran.

As Malaysians gear up for the celebrations, Batik Air’s expanded services and special fares demonstrate its ongoing commitment to enhancing connectivity and delivering a seamless travel experience.
