KUALA LUMPUR – With tens of thousands of fans expected to descend on the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, the organisers of the highly anticipated Thalapathy Thiruvizha concert have drawn a clear line between entertainment and politics.
The mega concert, organised by Malik Streams Corporation under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer Datuk Abdul Malik Dashtigeer, is being positioned strictly as a celebration of music and cinema, with zero tolerance for any form of political expression.
Datuk Abdul Malik said the concert is organised solely as an entertainment event and must not be used as a platform for political messaging, symbols or activities.
“This event is meant for fans to come together and enjoy the music and the legacy of cinema. We will not allow any political elements that could compromise safety, harmony or the smooth flow of the concert,” he said in a statement.

He stressed that all attendees are required to comply fully with safety instructions and crowd-control measures set by the organiser and relevant authorities, while behaving respectfully and maintaining public order throughout the event.
According to Datuk Abdul Malik, the organiser has imposed a strict ban on the sale, display or distribution of political materials or symbols at and around the venue. Speeches, chants, convoys or live broadcasts linked to political elements are also strictly prohibited.
“There will be no compromise on any actions that may disrupt the safety, order or harmony of the event. Malik Streams Corporation reserves the right to take firm action against anyone who fails to comply with the established guidelines,” he said.
The Thalapathy Thiruvizha concert celebrates Indian film superstar Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, popularly known as Thalapathy Vijay, one of the most influential figures in Tamil cinema with a massive following across India and internationally, including Malaysia.

Vijay has recently stepped into Indian politics as the founder and president of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), a development that has drawn heightened attention to events associated with his name. In this context, Datuk Abdul Malik reiterated that the concert must not be misconstrued as a political gathering.
“This is about entertainment, music and cinema nothing else. We urge all fans to respect these boundaries and give their full cooperation,” he said.
Scheduled to take place at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, the concert is expected to attract close to 90,000 fans, with more than 60,000 tickets already sold, making it one of the largest concerts ever staged in Malaysia. -MalayaDailyToday
