KUALA LUMPUR – The upcoming Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) elections are not merely a contest for leadership positions but a vibrant showcase of democratic maturity within a party that has stood firm on the pillars of justice, reform, and inclusivity since its inception.
Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, who is contesting for a Vice President post, described the election as a reflection of grassroots strength and the unyielding spirit of unity among PKR members.
“Our party is our family. As a multiracial and multi-faith political movement, PKR has weathered countless storms internally and externally. Party elections are not new to us. They are part of the very fabric of our struggle,” said Ramanan in a statement today.
A Member of Parliament for Sungai Buloh and PKR’s Deputy Chief of Information, Ramanan emphasised that while the party welcomes diverse opinions, its strength lies in its unwavering loyalty to the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the vision of Malaysia Madani.
“PKR has always celebrated differing views. But what binds us is our shared mission. At the end of the day, we remain united under Anwar’s leadership to build a better, just Malaysia,” he added.
Calling on all candidates and members to approach the party elections with integrity and purpose, Ramanan urged that the process be used as a platform to strengthen, empower, and galvanise the party for future battles be it state elections, general elections, or defending democratic principles.
“This election is not just about positions. It is about charting the future course of PKR. The voices of our grassroots members must continue to shape our direction. They are the heartbeat of this party,” he said.
Ramanan expressed confidence that unity, discipline, and loyalty to reformist ideals would fortify PKR’s position as a leading force in Malaysian politics.
“With President Anwar Ibrahim, we must move forward as one team. In this party, we do not have factions we have a single, united team. Our diversity is our strength, and our internal democracy is a testament to our political maturity,” he affirmed.
This year’s PKR party elections are seen as a pivotal moment that will determine a leadership line-up capable of navigating the political landscape ahead and reinforcing public confidence in the Unity Government. -MalayaDailyToday
