MELAKA – Melaka has been officially selected as the venue for the launch of Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026).
Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing announced that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has discussed and approved the decision to designate Melaka as the host.
“The launch of VM2026 will coincide with the celebrations of World Tourism Day 2025 (WTD 2025) and the World Tourism Conference (WTC 2025), both scheduled for September this year.

“The Prime Minister has given the green light for the VM2026 launch to be held alongside World Tourism Day 2025 this coming September,” he said during the 2025 Melaka Tourism Industry Engagement Programme at a leading hotel.

The event was officiated by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh on Thursday (March 20).

Tiong urged all stakeholders, especially those in the tourism industry, to collaborate in promoting VM2026 both locally and internationally.
“I encourage everyone, including social media influencers, to help showcase Malaysia as a premier tourist destination.

“More importantly, we must capitalize on this opportunity to drive economic growth for the country,” he added. – MalayaDailyToday
