PUTRA HEIGHTS – In the aftermath of a fire that left scores of families homeless in Putra Heights, the Malaysian Red Crescent (BSMM) and Nestlé Malaysia launched a significant humanitarian initiative to aid those affected by the tragedy.
Relief efforts centered at the Masjid Putra Heights Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS), where resident victims found temporary refuge following the incident. Complementing organized relief efforts were over 200 food aid bundles—comprised of assorted Nestlé Malaysia products—disbursed among the affected householders. These food bundles were specifically designed to offer nutritional respite and an element of sanity amidst enormous devastation and uncertainty.

The initiative also received a morale-boosting visit from DYTM Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj. His Royal Highness’s visit gave emotional comfort and lifted the spirits of the staff at the evacuation centre, reaffirming the collective sympathy and mutual solidarity of the wider community.

The initiative was well-coordinated and strongly supported by the MRC national leadership, MRC Selangor Chapter and Nestlé Malaysia, under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Juan Aranols. Their synergy is proof of mutual commitment to humanity and public welfare.
Volunteers from both organizations were central to effective implementation of relief on the ground. Braving lengthy hours and severe conditions, such volunteers exhibited unwavering compassion and endurance, demonstrating the essence of the contribution of civic action in responding to emergencies.

This humanitaire effort is a powerful demonstration of what can be achieved when public, private, and royal interests come together in a common purpose. It is a timely reminder that in the face of need, compassion and solidarity can prove as potent as any material assistance in helping communities to heal and rebuild. -MalayaDailyToday
