KUALA LUMPUR – In a strategic move to boost Malaysia’s tourism sector, Tourism Malaysia, the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), and ITAKA Poland, the largest travel agency in Poland, have partnered to introduce direct chartered flights between Warsaw and Langkawi. The partnership aims to strengthen Malaysia’s presence in the European market and promote Langkawi as a premier travel destination.
The chartered flights, which will commence on October 28, 2024, will connect Warsaw and Langkawi aboard a Boeing Dreamliner with a capacity of 276 passengers. The initial phase will see 22 chartered flights operating from October 2024 to March 2025, offering tourists a 7-day, 6-night stay on the island. If successful, the partnership will be extended to a three-year agreement, totaling 66 chartered flights by March 2027.
During a networking session in Paris, Earth Holidays Sdn Bhd reaffirmed its commitment to the project. The collaboration will receive promotional support through the International and Charter Flight Matching Grant (GSPC), with additional marketing support provided by LADA to ensure the route’s success.
Tourism Malaysia emphasized the importance of this initiative, which not only strengthens Langkawi’s position as a key destination but also contributes to Malaysia’s goal of becoming a leading global tourist destination.
This partnership represents a significant milestone in Malaysia’s efforts to attract European tourists, showcasing Langkawi’s unique offerings while promoting the country on the global stage. -MalayaDailyToday
