KOTA KINABALU – More than 12,000 police personnel will be mobilised to ensure the smooth conduct of voting for the 17th Sabah state election this Saturday.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said all preparations have been finalised, including security coordination and operational briefings with the Election Commission (SPR).
He said the deployment covers polling centres statewide, including hotspots identified based on past election patterns and current risk assessments.
The 17th Sabah state election called following the dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly last month will see multi-cornered contests across all seats, with major coalitions and local parties vying for control of the state administration.
Early voting for security forces was completed earlier this week.
Jauteh emphasised that police are fully prepared to maintain order, ensure public safety, and facilitate a smooth voting process throughout polling day. -MalayaDailyToday
