JERTIH – Renowned property tycoon Datuk Mohamad Azlan bin Abdullah @ Ali, widely known as Datuk Azlan Al Amin, has lodged a police report at the Jertih Police Station against a man suspected of filing a false police report against him over allegations of fraud involving a property transaction.
The police report was made against Shahruldi Mahafiz bin Ramli, who had previously accused Datuk Azlan Al Amin of cheating in a land transaction involving a parcel of land allegedly belonging to the complainant’s late father. The allegation led to a formal police investigation into the business dealings of the property tycoon.
Following a comprehensive investigation by the Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Setiu District Police Headquarters, the matter was referred to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC). After reviewing the findings, the AGC classified the case as NFA (No Further Action), confirming that no criminal offence had been established.
Datuk Azlan Al Amin said he had fully cooperated with the authorities throughout the investigation process in order to ensure transparency and to clear his name from what he described as unfounded accusations.
He explained that the police report and the accompanying allegations had adversely affected his reputation, leading to negative public perception and raising doubts about his integrity as a businessman, despite the absence of any evidence of wrongdoing.
According to Datuk Azlan Al Amin, the NFA classification brought a sense of relief and vindication, as it confirmed that the allegations were unsupported by facts.
He further revealed that the same individual had previously accused him of cheating in relation to the sale of two other properties, a matter that was brought before the Besut Sessions Court. On 23 March 2025, the court ruled in his favour and dismissed a claim amounting to RM590,000.
In addition to the police report, the property tycoon has filed a RM10 million defamation suit against the individual at the Shah Alam High Court, citing serious damage to his personal and professional reputation arising from repeated allegations.
Datuk Azlan Al Amin said the latest police report was lodged to ensure that the truth is upheld and to prevent the misuse of legal processes through false or malicious complaints.
He stressed that he would not hesitate to pursue legal action against any party found to have deliberately made false statements or defamatory accusations against him, adding that accountability is essential to protect public confidence and the integrity of legitimate business practices. -MalayaDailyToday
