SHAH ALAM – Police have confirmed that the Japanese woman who was found dead after allegedly falling from the 4th floor of a condominium in SS16 was the wife of entrepreneur and influencer Ridzokumura.
The matter was confirmed by Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussien Omar Khan, during a press conference today.
According to him, the case is currently classified as sudden death.
He also stated that the victim’s husband has been called in to provide a statement.
“When we investigate a sudden death, we look at all aspects. We will still examine any criminal elements, whether it was the victim’s action or otherwise.
“If there is evidence of a criminal element, then we will reclassify it as a criminal case. Investigating under sudden death does not mean we are dismissing the possibility of foul play,” he explained.
Further, the death of the influencer’s wife has been reported to the Japanese embassy and the victim’s family in Japan.
At the same time, he urged the public not to speculate about the case.
Last Friday, the victim, Akiko Okumura, who was in her 50s, was found lying face down on the ground by a police patrol officer who had rushed to the scene.

However, a preliminary examination of the victim’s body and the scene of the incident found no signs of foul play.
The wife of the influencer and entrepreneur, whose real name is Abd Ridzuan Abdul Mutalib, is said to have been living in Malaysia for 14 years.
Akiko’s death has sparked various reactions on social media, especially regarding the posts made by her husband. -MalayaDailyToday
