“𝐒𝐢𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐩𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚.”
In the face of recent challenges and criticism, I feel compelled to express my deepest appreciation to all media practitioners, the true storytellers of our nation.
Day and night, you dedicate your lives to this noble profession, sacrificing time with family, rushing from one assignment to another, standing under the scorching sun at rallies, braving the rain at disaster sites, and attending every press conference, no matter the hour, all to ensure we receive real-time, accurate, and detailed information. Hats off to each one of you.
Your passion knows no boundaries. You travel across towns, states, even across the world, chasing the truth, so that the rest of us can understand the world better. You are the bridge between the public and the truth. For that, you deserve nothing less than our utmost respect and gratitude.
For me personally, I have always valued and welcomed media practitioners, within and beyond official settings. I’ve always looked forward to engaging with members of the media, even those who ask the tough and provocative questions, because that is where honest conversations begin. I’m thankful for being given the space and platform to tell my side of the story. That is what true journalism stands for.
Yet, it saddens me to see how far we’ve drifted from the ideal of media freedom, something we once fought so hard for. It used to be, “Don’t include this in the news.” Now, it has become “Don’t post this news at all.” When the press is held by the reins of money and power, its purpose is weakened. The very voice meant to hold truth to power is instead being silenced by it.
To all media practitioners, I hope you continue to stay strong, transparent, and bold in delivering the truth. Do not lose your fire. The nation needs you now more than ever.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your unwavering commitment, sacrifice, and courage.
